My Post-It Pet Creations Make People Smile!

Update from My 3x3 World

A New Website is On the Way. Yay!

I have known for quite some time that I was going to have to get a website where people can easily see my art, read my story and if they so choose--buy original art or a numbered limited print. I have been focusing intently on doing the art itself and doing a lot of art-related philanthropy, but now I am stepping up and working with a top-notch web developer to create a site we can all be proud of.

But, like building a house (or even doing a minor re-model) plans and deadlines often get extended. I can tell you that this will not be like the Winchester Mystery House, where the construction never seemed to end.

So, hopefully in July, when you come here you will see a wonderful website that will captivate you and hopefully change your life. Or at very least--you won't get nauseous!

Silly Arguments

From time to time, I like to do a piece with a message. This is my newest collage and it's called Silly Arguments. During the holiday season, we have to hang out with relatives. It often involves long plane trips, traffic and a lot of family-related stress.

Silly Arguments, 2015
This year, I have heard some amazingly horrific stories about family encounters during the holidays. Luckily, I don't have any to share of my own. I keep it simple. I enjoy the company of my wife, my father-in-law and my dogs and we stay home--safe and content and void of silly arguments and family quarrels that are re-visited every holiday season.

The positives are numerous: I don't have to sit through long-winded stories that I've heard 100 times before; pointless gifts that will soon be in the bin; endless photos with fake smiles and inane expressions; toddlers walking around with a full diaper while their mothers play Scrabble; "special" dishes like jello mold and three-bean salad; scrapbooks and family videos that never seem to end and that one relative who watches too much Fox News and wants to discuss politics.

Have a Great New Year Everyone and Please Stop Silly Arguments Today!

My Christmas Art

It's funny because I used to hate Christmas until I hit my 40s and then for some reason I started liking it.

I now do Christmas cards for many of my friends:

The Dogs of My Life

Freddy hates to pose
I love to draw dogs, because basically I love dogs. I always have been a dog person, although I do also like cats. In many of my images, I include my dogs from the past--Ratdog and Shelly--and my current pooches Freddy (in the photo) and Gracie (a Chihuahua).
That's Gracie at the left
Ratdog was another amazing dog in my life and that's why I include him in my art. When I adopted Ratty, they told me he would probably live for maybe a year, but we had him for 10. He was a finalist in the 2011 World's Ugliest Dog Contest in Petaluma, CA, but he couldn't win because he was too damn cute!
Ratdog did his share to modeling gigs

Our amazing vet Dr. Hunter kept him alive more than a few times.
Ratdog sneaks into almost all my pet pieces and others where he doesn't belong.

Shelly was an American Staffie and a big lover. The bully breeds (Pit bulls, etc.) get a bad rap, but Shelly was a clown; a wonderful friend and the best dog I've ever owned. When she passed a few years back, it hit me real bad and to be honest--I'm still not over it.
Shelly would do this all the time to get laughs. We called it her "Cleopatra."
